The database concentrates comprehensive information on the most important geological sites in the Slovak Republic. It contains primary records of areas protected under Act No. 543/2002 Coll. on nature and landscape protection (especially in the 4th and 5th levels of protection).

🏛️ Categories of protected sites in the database:

  • National Natural Monuments (NPP) and Natural Monuments (PP).

  • National Nature Reserves (NPR) and Nature Reserves (PR).

  • Protected Areas (CHA).

  • 🌍 Sites included in the World Cultural and Natural Heritage List UNESCO (according to the Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage).

📝 Content and added value

For each site, the system has developed:

  • Popular educational texts suitable for the general public, schools and geotourism.

  • A brief summary in English for international needs.
