The Environmental and Health Indicators application was created by processing the results of two significant geological tasks carried out in the Slovak Republic.

1. National Assessment (2006 – 2009)

Task Title: Environmental and Health Indicators of the Slovak Republic

Researchers: Dionýz Štúr State Geological Institute in cooperation with the organization ENVIRONMENT, a. s., Nitra.

  • Environmental indicators: Detailed information on the content of chemical elements in the geological environment, which reflect the level of pollution.

  • Health indicators: Comprehensive data on indicators of the health status of the population throughout the territory of the Slovak Republic.

2. Regional assessment – Banská Štiavnica region (2006 – 2010)

Task title: Assessment of the potential impact of the geological environment on the health status of the population of the Banská Štiavnica region

Researchers: Dionýz Štúr State Geological Institute, ENVIRONMENT, a. s., Nitra (health indicators) and Slovak Health University in Bratislava (measurement of ²²²Rn in residential areas).

  • Detailed data for the region: The task provides detailed information on the content of chemical elements in the geological environment (especially in groundwater and soils) and on the health status of the population of the Banská Štiavnica region.

  • Data format: The results are processed into the form of characterization data for each specific municipality of the Banská Štiavnica region (or municipalities that extend into this area).
