Research background and history of creation
The map’s preparation follows decades of complex geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys. It is based mainly on the results of the following key projects:
-
SGR – Geophysics (1978 – 1992)
-
Atlas of Geological Maps of the SGR (1993 – 2001)
-
Geological Map of the SGR at scale 1: 50,000 (2005 – 2006)
Important notice for the professional public
⚠️ Conceptual specifics: The concept of this map and its explanatory notes is based on partially different principles than those used in the creation of a unified legend for the project Digital Geological Map of the Slovak Republic at a scale of 1:50,000.
The choice of a specific map version is therefore left to the user and their current professional needs. We believe that making this work available online will enrich the professional discussion on the conceptual differences between this new interpretation and the older version of the map Slovenské rudohorie – eastern part (Bajaník et al., 1984), which is otherwise integrated into the national digital map as standard.
