The application provides an overview of the status and history of geological exploration areas in Slovakia. The information is divided into four main thematic layers.

What does the application show?

  • Proposed exploration areas – areas that are currently in the approval process.

  • Designated exploration areas – currently valid and approved areas for exploration.

  • Cancelled (blocked) exploration areas – areas whose validity has expired or are blocked.

  • Areas with a ban on deposit exploration – locations in which it is legally prohibited to conduct geological exploration for oil and natural gas.

Available information and documentation

Each object in the map layers contains detailed basic data:

  • Name of the exploration area (according to the proposer)

  • Type of mineral sought

  • Business name and registered office of the holder of the exploration area

  • Number of the decision on designation and exact date of its issuance

Complete scanned documents in PDF format are attached to the selected objects (designated and cancelled areas). They map the entire history of a given area – from its initial designation, through approved changes to its final cancellation.
