The “Vrty” application is used to browse and analyze geological boreholes in the Slovak Republic. It integrates data from three separate registers, which provide valuable data for geological, hydrogeological and construction projects.

1. Register of other boreholes

This register is being built continuously based on data from final reports stored in the Geofond Archive. It contains an extensive set of boreholes that are undergoing gradual digitization.

  • Map data: In areas where full digitization has not yet been completed, base maps and transparencies at a scale of 1:25,000 are available.

  • Territory of Bratislava: For the capital city, base maps at a scale of 1:10,000 are used for the sake of detail.

2. Register of Hydrogeological Wells

This register was created as a separate record in 1962 by separating it from the overall register of well exploration. The reason was the sharp increase in information about water and geothermal wells in final reports. In 1994, the system was modernized, which enabled the efficient storage of factual data in a unified hydrogeological database.

3. Geothermal Well Register

This register was created by separating from the hydrogeological well register in order to ensure better data transparency and reflect the growing interest in geothermal energy.

Available materials and link to Geofond

  • Map display: The application includes base maps at a scale of 1:25,000, in which individual wells are precisely drawn.

  • Borehole passports: Scanned borehole passports in PDF format are attached to the selected objects directly on the map. You can easily access them via the attribution table of a specific borehole.

  • Access to final reports: In the attribution table you will also find a direct link to the final report in the Geofond Archive. Registered users can open and study these documents via remote access.
