Seismic exploration includes a complex set of methods, methodologies and interpretation procedures designed to determine the structure of the Earth’s crust.
These methods are based on the study of artificially induced elastic waves, which propagate through the Earth’s body in all directions. The waves are then recorded on the Earth’s surface along seismic profiles.
⏱️ Principle and interpretation of measurements
By measuring the time it takes for seismic waves to return to the surface and analyzing their propagation in geological structures, we can accurately determine:

The depth of geological interfaces.

The shape of subsurface structures.

Character of interfaces at which waves are reflected or refracted.
