Geophysical work is used in all stages of geological, geotechnical and ecological exploration.

Main objectives of geophysical work:

  • Unit delineation: Identification of quasi-homogeneous units with similar physical properties (in profiles, areas and in space).

  • Boundary localization: Precise determination of interfaces between these units.

  • Quantitative evaluation: Integration with field/laboratory tests and logging results for accurate geological interpretation.

Geophysical methods comprehensively investigate electrical, electromagnetic, mechanical, gravity and radiometric properties of the rock environment. The choice of specific measurements always depends on the goal of the given survey.

✈️ Aerial geophysics (Aero measurements)

Aerial measurements of natural or artificially induced fields are carried out along profiles in a network determined by the required scale of work. Their main advantage is high speed and in several methods also high accuracy.

The following are most often used in aerial geophysics:

  • Aeromagnetometry – monitoring the magnetic properties of rocks and minerals.

  • Aerial radiometry – detection of gamma radiation of the rock environment.

  • Aerogravimetry – measurement of the gravitational acceleration of the Earth’s gravitational field.

  • Aeronautical electrical and electromagnetic methods (in various variants).
