This web application serves as an important tool for land management in line with global efforts to minimize the negative impacts of climate change. It provides a clear picture of areas in which it is legislatively and geologically possible or impossible to conduct exploration and establish carbon dioxide storage facilities.
What does the application show?
The application maps areas where geological exploration can be carried out for the establishment of natural rock structures and underground spaces for the purpose of permanent storage of CO2 in the geological environment.
It also displays areas where it is possible or impossible to carry out geological exploration of oil and flammable natural gas.
What exactly does Act No. 258/2011 Coll.?
- Conditions for issuing, authorizing, checking, updating and revoking storage permits.
- Criteria and procedures for safe storage and continuous monitoring of storage sites (including surface and injection facilities).
